Chicken @ Beer

The driver and labandera are it again.

Chicken Sisig (with bones)

They went to an off roads bar in Mabolo, called iamiks chicken@beer.
No porks here, they serve only chicken dishes of all varieties,
chicken skin, chicken sisig, chicken crispy feet,
and anything with chicken, pwera feather.
Nakahuna-huna hinuon mi ug tukod ug bar
nga puro lumpia ang i-serve,
lumpiang ubod, lumpiang karne, lumpiang balot,
lumpiang eggplant, lumpiang lumpia, etc.
Basta anything nga giputos ug lumpia wrapper!
Barato ra pud ila servings! RH ray mahal.

Chicken Tonkatsu

Chicken Boholano

But in fairness, lami ila food.
With acoustic singer pa, everyday except sunday but up to 11:00pm only,
don't ask me why? kay nag-wonder pud ko.
dili ni commercial ha!

The boylets have a meeting for their next climb, and we tag along.
Pagka-love your own!
Wa may laing agenda kay puro man 1 round sa RH.
Nihunong pag 9 rounds in honor ni Pacquiao!

Chicken with no name.

you need to removed your shoes kay

Imagine a 60's era house converted into a bar haus,
with the second floor foyer as the stage,
and the whole living room area as the drinking area.
The home toilet is now a toilet bar,
with no running water paired with urine stains on the bowl edge.
Definitely, dili ka-pasar sa akong toilet standard and
eewww, the door knob is oily, grabeng na-mugna nga
Yes, he lives in the second floor room.
Wais nga tag-iya!

Till next adventure!

Agusan Snapshots

Windblowned Bridge Queen

The Mighty Agusan River.

What is this Snellen's Chart doing by the rice paddy?
Sugo ni Mayor.

Pungko-pungko sa Macapagal Bridge with my staff.

Twin ni Marcelo Fernan Bridge, ang Diosadado Macapagal Bridge in Butuan City.

Drive me a river

After attending a wake (haya') in Paknaan, ug sa wa damha, akong drayber nanghagad ug laag. Oi! milagro! Mama Mia!

Murag 48 years na jud na wala koy laag. So, no earth na man jud tawn ta kung asa na ning nindot nga lugar para sa mga tiguwang (clarification: edad ray matiguwang). The plan was to go to some 'in places' nga wala pa namo ma-adtoi (actually, wala pa jud mi naka-adto bisag asa nga 'in' place, para dili ta mailhan nga ihas ba!). Mura bag let's feel the place now, para if ever mag-kina-unsa, we can tell nga been there, done that. Para way mahayay! Drink a bottle or a glass of anything, then kaboom, transfer to another place.

Lami kaayo ila Quesadilla, better than Bigby's, barato pa pud. and the beer is only P35, i was expecting nga mahal sila, affordable ra man di ay, hasta ila mga foods. Naa pay Mariacchi Band nga nag-kanta ug Kutsero (?!? Yoyoy sunod kanta).

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2033/2380705344_6327dff6a0.jpg

Ang balay murag gi-panag-iya ug karaang datu nga Espanyol (old rich) nga in dire straits. Ang ilang tukar kay Y101, medley sa 80's song, so naka-sakay ko sa kanta ni Bruce Springsteen "microwave open,____ chicks for free". Ang ilang adorno sa 'sala' kay mga libro spiced up with ethnic decors and native accessories. Nindot biya pud, in fairness.

Bitaw, giduka na man mi oi. Ingon ani jud ning magka-goors, dukaon dayon.

Kanus-a na pud kaha ta i-date ani akong drayber?

What Theresa Means

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.

You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.

You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.

Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.

Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.

You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.

You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

June 21, 2008 5pm

On the car radio this morning, the hubby and i were listening to the news that a man and woman was found
in the vicinity where the Sulpicio ship sank.
Their wrists were tied to each other,
they later found out that they were husband and wife,
kay nilugmaw man pud iyang luha,
dayon gunit sa akong kamot,
"mi, ayaw na pag-barko ha?"

Let us all pray for them.
May God rests their soul.

Sharing the Love, The Award

[Sharing+the+love.jpg]

Doc Joey gave me an award!

And for this i want to share a something that happen today.

I received a text message from fellow blogger today (we havent met yet, got my phone number somewhere in my blogs) she wanted me to share my knowledge on primary eye care and common ailments to her SPED class this Sunday.

Without second thoughts, I gave her a GO!

If this is God's way of my 'paying it forward', so be it.

And I'm sharing, it's all that matters.

And by sharing that corneas can be donated, they might be inspired to share their corneas when the time comes .......

The award that Doc Joey gave me is extra special because the origin, Crystal, created it in honor of the donor who saved her son's life. Her son Noah had to have a heart transplant when he was just over a month old. This award is supposed to help raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.

So, here are the rules Crystal gave:

“The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??

So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life. I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place.

I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.”

Doc Joey thank you for the tag.

So, I'm tagging the bloggers of theresians batch 89 who sneaks and lurks in the net. Onyot, Mariliz, Hannah Lee, Zenda, Tonette, Nina and Tiny, basig gusto mo mu-ambit diha.

PMA who?

http://paulflynnmp.typepad.com/my_weblog/images/2007/11/25/padrugindustry.jpg

The Philippine Daily Idiot (di jud ko motuo nga idiotic ni siya, pwede pa siguro quixotic, hehehe, ionks my man, you're doing great disservice to yourself and to mankind) is asking if the PMA (not the soldier factory!) but the doctors academy if it is still relevant to the clientèle it's suppose to be serving?

Actually, I dont give a hoot! I don't know anyone there, I only concerned myself with the local society since they're the ones giving the certificates for the social insurance's accreditation. If not for these function, they're equivalent to non-existent. As in, maka-pangutana ka, naa di ay ni sila?

Hey, oinks! can I elaborate and rant on the Willie Ong's quotation?

Oh, thank you oinks for the go signal.

Six months before I graduated from training, I already plotted a plan to launch my private practice. I started ordering the necessary gadgets that a decent eye clinic should have, knowing that after residency there will be no monthly salary to lean on. Only your guts and kapalmuks!

Since my hometown is pretty near a big hospital, I ask the ever loving husband of mine to buy me some stocks enough to have some kind of privilege in the hospital. Lovable man pud ko, so go! sugot dayon ang husbandry. I talked to the top person who matters and who has the biggest say on my application. Nag-yes siya! So, pay nami sa stocks.

Ever so expecting that I can have admitting and OR privilege, okay lang way admitting privilege, OR privilege lang ako gi-apas...

The big day came when the umbilical cord has been cut. And, I'm free to conquer the world!

I sent some feelers that I would like to practice now, in the hospital. Can I bring my sosyal pxs to the hospital ?

And I was told that I cannot, I have to take the diplomate first. Huh! This is not even a training hospital and I know for a fact that other doctors with no diplomates are practicing already there. I was not told that it's a requirement for the practice. A 360 degress turn about!

So, why am I not surprised that their eye clinic (hospital owned) which they have been neglecting in the past has an assigned eye doctor already?

You can put 2 and 2 together and eureka! you have the answer !

As for now, I have kept my peace, consoling my little ass, nga basig dili ni para ako, para ra ni ila! So, have the cake and you can eat it whole by yourselves.

Kana lang, salamat oinks!

Hello Lover!

Hello,

The Man and the Five Mountains

Mt. Malindang

Mt. Lumot

Kanlaon

E just arrived from Silay City today, where they conquered the mountains and witnessed the Tinagong Dagat. This is his fifth major climb and he wanted me to chose the 'i-was-there' photos for his album.

He reads my posts diligently, so now, my beloved, this is for you.

P.S.

Dad, I can't find the Mt. Apo pics and will post the Silay pics once i've edited it.

Or tapulan lang jud ko mangita! He he he.
My clinic assistant was the who prodded me to use the web features of my hardy N70.

Magpabayad na jud ko sa nokia ani!
I can blog and access my email anywhere now bAsta na ay lang 3G signal.

Then, i believe!

Why do I blog thee, let me count the ways!

The Blog Rounds!

http://www.wayodd.com/funny-pictures2/funny-pictures-foot-in-mouth-tlu.jpg

1. IRL, im a very talkative person. During my elementary days, number ONE ko pirmi sa lista sa Most Talkative Pupils sa akong maestra, guess, this is just an extension of my loquacious self.

2. I have a very big thought, in short, nagdahum ko nga mahimo kung WRITER ig ka dako na ko, karong dako nako ug ....ug... HAWAK (waist). Nag-dahum lang gihapon ko!

3.
I'm an insomniac, so the next best thing after watching TV and reading is tinkering with the computer. I'm not an encoder, so mamutbot na lang ko sa internet with my blogs! Wah!

4. I got inspired with those people who blogs even the minutest thing that happens to their life to the minute and to the hour. They are making a living diary through their blogs. SO, bakit hindi ko rin gayahin! so... GO!.... BLOG!

5. It's only in the blogging world that I can exchange word with the famous writers and celebrities, first name basis pa jud! hi brian, how's DJ? oh di ba!

6. Sharing is living... So I share my thoughts so that I can live, not yet to the fullest, but at least adding to it little by little.

7. Every opinion counts, I like mine to be counted.

8. Blogging keeps me on my toes, there are more word players out there who can mince me with their adjectives and nouns. Much more the verbs. So, I'm a pygmy fish in the Philippine Deep.

Mag-buot mo?!!!

10. And sometimes, I do put my foot in my mouth! ka-uwaw! sample ni ron.

Lechon of my life!

The Blog Rounds!

Before i start my ode to my favorite food, let me apologize for not sending entries to the past 2 or 3 TBR's. I would have ranted on the unfit and cheating TO on the "Mentors, Tormentors" and would have written on my Lolo who shouldered my medical school bill with an iron hand on "The Doctor's Family".

The thing is the whole Colgate Family (yes, colgate! kay kada pislit sirit) went to the Surfing Kingdom in Siargao, were my entire GI system was wrecked. I puked most of the time due to the gigantic waves that rocked the small Cokaliong ship from Cebu to Surigao, then Surigao to Cebu, Surigao to Siargao and Siargao to Surigao.

I cried for the delicious Surigao BBQ, the lobster and king prawns and yes, the LECHON, that has to forcefully leave my stomach.

Congressman Lalo, welcoming us!

Surfing on dry land.

On the shores of Naked Island.

And now back to LECHON....

Lechon is synonymous to celebration in every Pinoy's mind.

But for this Pinay, CEBU LECHON is it.

I have to admit that there is no better lechon than a CEBU LECHON. You can argue or quarrel with me but I will stick to my Cebu Lechon. I can eat it any time of the day. It can be leftover adobong lechon with the crispy skin or the lechon paksiw with vinegar (my mouth is watering), sarap!

Years ago, my friend and I craved for a lechon. So, we went to SM Fairview (i reviewed for med licensure exam at Tating's Boarding house in Fairview) to look for one. There was a big signage in the food court "Lechon Cebu". We were so excited, we bought one kilo right away. Yes, virginia, one kilo for the two of us. With the first excited bite, we grimaced because it was not as we expected it to taste , it was hard, dry and bland. We have to drown it with the sad gravy they gave us, just to swallow it. We were cursing all the time we ate it. Well, we have to ate it kay sayang, mahal ang kilo. And we vowed never again to eat Lechon in Manila.

During residency, whenever the interns or the PGI's behaved or made a good job, I sometimes bring with them to my Lechon-eating-binges. During my "leche days", only the good ole Lechon can change the scowl to a smile.

Happy Lechon Day!
